The ISA celebrates its 25th Birthday






Yes its true the ISA is 25 years old this year. Before the ISA some will remember the Tessa and the PEP. These were two separate tax free savings, the TESSA for cash savings and the PEP for stocks and shares. The limits in those days were far lower than they are now. That said, even when the ISA was invented, the level on contributions in one single tax year were £7200. Lets hope the ISA remains for years to come.
